    Thank you for this helpful tip! Judging from your two clips on the heel-raise, it looks like a necessary first motion for the subsequent shift of weight forward onto the front foot, followed by the leg extension (or small jump) to get maximum height at the point of ball contact. So, it's really the forward shift of weight that is the main objective, and the heel raise is the first necessary step to achieving while keeping yourself in good balance. I'm always looking for the main rhyme and reason for a motion, so I just thought the weight shift should perhaps be emphasized more as the overall objective. I hope I'm not missing the boat on this one. So, please correct me if I've missed something.

  4. Hey Brent! It's Wally from Nipissing... I practiced my serves last weekend with emphasis on this front heel raise. Again, I am blown away by your advice! It has allowed me to push the front hip out even further. The problem I was having beforehand was that I would loose my balance and my rear foot would wander. But now that rear foot is very stable as I shift my weight and rotate, etc... Now I know you are as humble as they come Brent, BUT I reiterate ... YOU ARE A TENNIS TEACHING GOD! That's all there is to it... Keep up the good work and a special hello from Wally to your new wife Mai. Take it easy.
