Tennis Doubles - When The Middle Isn't Open

One of the biggest mistakes I see in doubles is when players perceive that the middle of the court, the area between the two opponents, is open, when trying to play a volley from the "outside" of the court.

  1. inn old times doubles coming up to the net or even half court doesn't work because they are lob masters and keep
lobbing over the back line now matter what I do! Suggestions?

  3. Hey Brent,
LOVE the doubles tips!! Keep them coming:) What about hitting an offensive lob at this point, over the net person's head?? I've tried that and it's pretty effective:) Would love to see more tips on doubles shot selection!

  4. The rule I adhere to,is Outside to Outside and Middle to Middle unless it is high and then aim for the Navel.

  5. Thanks for the feedback on your doubles. Appreciate it.

I'm still trying to determine how to respond to individual Comments with Blogger but can't figure that out yet.

If you know how, let me know. Thanks...

I'm in the process of putting together a doubles strategy lesson based on the roles of each of the four players for specific situations.

Please let me know if there are any specific situations in doubles that you'd like to improve upon.

    Thanks again. Brent
