Forehand Groundstroke - Contact Above The Waist

One of the tougher shots in the game is when you want to drive your forehand groundstroke but the ball is arriving higher than you normally like it.

We normally like our contact point to be about waist high if not slightly lower when we go for a nice semi topped drive.

We sometimes take an above the waist contact point with our forehand and just play a nice safe 3/4 high looper back in play, and that's fine from time to time, but there are those times when you want to drive it flatter to possibly take advantage of your opponent being out of position.

There are a couple of keys to be able to hit this shot flat and still control it.

I like to play the contact point just a hair later to help naturally square up my racket to the ball, but at the same time, I want to make sure my wrist is relaxed enough to where I allow the head of my racket to release out around and through the ball to give me the needed racket speed to generate some decent power.
